Our history

Netpower was founded in Stavanger, Norway, in 1995 as an internet access provider. Today, Netpower IT Group consists of three companies working in software products, software development and IT operations.

From 1995 to today

1995

Netpower is founded

Netpower is founded by local entrepreneurs as an internet access provider for the business market. The company has run servers for its customers from the start, and hosting and operations have been part of the business ever since.

2000s

Software development becomes a core business

Netpower expands into hosting, websites and custom IT systems. Developing software for customers becomes a core business.

2006

Erlend Bruvik becomes owner

Erlend Bruvik buys Netpower. Software development in his companies is gradually brought together in Netpower.

2010

Document management for Oslo University Hospital

Netpower delivers a document management solution to Oslo University Hospital. OUS is still a customer.

2014

A new platform for the quality system

Netpower rebuilds the quality system on a new technology platform and prioritises further development of the product. Functionality is developed for large and complex organisations, in collaboration with four hospitals. The system is the foundation of what is today Certain QMS.

2020

Workplace Safety

Netpower develops Workplace Safety and enters the chemical management market.

2023

Netpower Business Solutions AS

Netpower brings the group’s in-house products together in a separate company, Netpower Business Solutions AS.

2025

ChemCenter

The first version of ChemCenter is developed in collaboration with OKEA. Vår Energi and Equinor sign contracts for ChemCenter.

2026

Certain QMS and AI-assisted development

Netpower Kvalitet is renamed Certain QMS. AI-assisted software development becomes standard practice in all three companies.

Today

Netpower IT Group today

Netpower IT Group consists of three independent companies that share an owner, premises and a data centre, each with its own management. The group has more than 120 employees, offices in Stavanger and Oslo, and development teams in Vietnam and Bangladesh.
