Integrations

When systems talk to each other.

What you get

Integration is not a technical goal in itself. The point is what stops being manual.

  • No more manual keying — data moves between systems automatically, not by a person.
  • Fewer errors and misunderstandings — one source of truth instead of several versions of the same figure.
  • Time freed up across the organisation — duplicated work disappears where it starts.
  • More value from systems you already pay for — better data quality means better decisions.

Proof: the Kolumbus app handles tickets and payment in one flow. Nyt Norge got an application portal for product labelling, and MK Systemer a bespoke CRM that replaced manual routines.

Integrations connect systems together

In almost every project we deliver, the solution has to be connected to other systems. That could be public registers, finance systems, internal databases or other IT solutions used across the business. Integration is simply about getting systems to talk to each other automatically, so you avoid manual processes and duplicated work.

Systems we integrate with regularly

We have experience with a broad range of integrations, from public registers and finance systems to authentication services and payment solutions. Here are some examples:

Public registers and services
Altinn, ID-porten, Matrikkelen, Enhetsregisteret, Folkeregisteret

Authentication and security
BankID, Buypass, MinID, ID-porten

Finance systems
Visma.net, Visma Business, Visma eAccounting, Tripletex, PowerOffice Go, Uni Micro, 24SevenOffice

Payment solutions
Vipps, Nets, Klarna, Stripe, PayPal

Project and collaboration tools
SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Asana, Trello

Analytics tools
Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Google Looker Studio

CRM and HR systems
HubSpot, Salesforce, SuperOffice, Microsoft Dynamics 365, CatalystOne, Pipedrive CRM

What is an API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) can be described as an “interface”, or a shared language that lets two systems talk to each other. Many modern systems ship with an API, which makes it relatively straightforward to build integrations where data flows back and forth.

Not every system has an API. Even then, integration is still possible – for example through databases, file exchange (CSV, Excel, XML), or other technical connection points made available by the software vendor.

Different types of API

What is an open API (public API)?

Available to all developers. Often used by services that want others to build on their data or functionality.

What is a closed API (private API)?

Used internally within an organisation, or opened up only to selected partners.

What is a REST API?

The most widely used standard for modern integrations. It builds on ordinary internet protocols (HTTP) and is flexible, fast and easy to work with.

What is a SOAP API?

An older standard still found in some systems, particularly in industries that require high security and structured data sharing (banking and insurance, for example).

In short: APIs come in different forms, but what they have in common is that they let systems exchange information in a structured and secure way.

How we work

No two integrations are quite the same, and we always adapt the method to the systems being connected and the options available.

  • When the system has an API: we connect straight to the API that already exists. This is the fastest and most flexible way to integrate.
  • When the system has no API: we can still build integrations, for example by connecting to databases or setting up secure file exchange (CSV, Excel, XML). That way data can flow between the systems even without a ready-made API.
  • When you own the system yourself: do you have a system without an API that you own, or have the rights to develop further? Then we can build a new API for you, so your system can be integrated with other solutions across the business.
  • One-way or two-way integration: sometimes it is enough for data to travel in one direction, for example from a project tool to a finance system. Other times it matters that both systems are updated in real time. We always assess what delivers the most value and the safest data quality for your business.

This flexibility means we can find a solution whatever systems you use today – and make sure your data flows to where you need it.
